Nice, green strategy thanks to the support of eAmbiente

A paradigm shift, internal and external, so that sustainability becomes the keystone of the corporate strategy of Nice, an Italian multinational in Home Automation, Home Security and Smart Home, in line with its values ​​of attention to the environment and society in which it operates. This is the starting point of the sustainability path that Nice has announced it intends to undertake at a global level, with the collaboration of eAmbiente, a consulting company specialized in identifying technical and management solutions that are sustainable from an environmental, social and economic point of view. Nice believes that thanks to innovation, which has always been the driving force of the company, practicing sustainable actions means managing development in a different and more efficient way. The first step, in 2021, will be to measure the carbon footprint of the organization, i.e. the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the production activity, expressed in tons of CO2 equivalent. Based on this, Nice’s processes and products will be assessed in order to reduce the impacts on health, water, atmosphere and soil. With the ultimate goal of eliminating, or significantly reducing, CO2 emissions, aligning with the climate standards established by the United Nations through the Paris Agreement. At the same time, the Sustainability Report will be produced, a work of analysis and reporting of the impacts of Nice’s activity on the territory and on the environment, on a global level, which will serve as a guideline for defining the company’s sustainable strategy. “For Nice , sustainability and business strategy are integrated elements, guided by a sense of responsibility to support people, safeguard the environment and enhance local communities – declares Marco Bianchet, Quality & Sustainability Global Director of Nice, in charge of the project – We have been implementing actions that go in this direction but from now on we want to face corporate sustainability in a more organic and structured way. Our goal is to exploit Nice’s innovative technologies to change the way we carry out business, develop and produce related products and solutions, to become the sustainable leader of Home Automation, Smart Home and Home Security ” . To allow the project to be carried out, ambassadors will be identified within the company who will set up a sustainability committee with strategic functions and an international and interdisciplinary team with more operational tasks. These teams will define in detail the vision, mission and objectives for improving company performance and, on the basis of these, will take the most effective actions from an environmental, economic and social point of view, setting timing and evaluation metrics. “This sustainable transition program will have to permeate the attitude and approach of our company and of our entire supply chain: this is an important cultural transformation that will affect the group internationally, every plant will be involved.
