Pensions, calculation: recognized vertical part time

Periods not worked in vertical or cyclical part-time employment relationships are fully recognized by INPS, also for private management, in the calculation of the seniority requirements for access to the right to a pension. This is what emerges from the Inps circular no. 74 of 4 May with which the Institute provided indications on the new method of calculating the contribution seniority, introduced from 1 January 2021 by article 1, paragraph 350, of the Budget Law. Previously, the social security regulations, the INPS note recalls, provided that the measurement parameter for the periods to be recognized was the “paid week”: the number of weekly contributions to be credited for retirement benefits was equal to that of the paid weeks of the year , for which the accreditation of weeks without pay was not allowed. “The recognition works for employment relationships in place at the time of the entry into force of the new discipline and for the entire duration of the same, but also for work exhausted before that date. This is an expected and very fair reform, especially for women who have to face periods of reduced activity for reasons related to maternity or for all those who have other needs for work-family reconciliation “, she comments the President of the Institute, Pasquale Tridico.
