Poste Italiane: with Green Delivery lower CO2 emissions with the Punto Poste network and the Punto Poste da Te lockers

It is called Green Delivery and is part of the initiatives envisaged in the so-called “Green Transition” of the Sustain & Innovate2024 industrial plan of the Poste Italiane Group. This is a more efficient logistics model, which encourages customers to use the Punto Poste network and Punto Poste da Te lockers to generate environmental benefits. Customers who collect a package purchased online or send a return to one of the more than 14,000 points of the Punto Poste network (consisting of tobacconists, bars, stationers, newsstands, Kipoint stores, Carrefour, IP service station and lockers, automated delivery lockers and parcel collection in self service), or at one of the 12,700 post offices distributed throughout the country, help to reduce CO2 emissions because they allow Poste Italiane to deliver or collect as many parcels as possible at a single point of Withdrawal thus reducing the passage and movement of vehicles in its fleet.During 2021 the Punto Poste network and the Post Office network made it possible to save approximately 277,000 kilometers for the Group’s fleet and to avoid the emission into the atmosphere of 36 tons of CO2eq and 163 kg of atmospheric contaminants.
