SeaFuture 2023, the road map towards the VIII edition starts from Venice

The road map towards the eighth edition of SeaFuture starts from Venice, the most important international exhibition held in Italy that is aimed at the naval industry, the Military Navies, the management bodies and governments that can share their know-how here how and dealing with the scientific community specializing in technology, safety, environmental sciences and infrastructures. The choice to present SeaFuture during the work of the T-RSS is also motivated by the consistency of the contents between the two events. The issues that will be at the center of the eighth edition of SeaFuture are those dictated by the international agenda, which addresses, even in a dramatic way, the main guidelines: security, not only in the field of defense, but also to guarantee a free, shared and sustainable use of the maritime environment, from the surface to the seabed; technological developments with particular reference to emerging research fields, such as cyber security, unmanned and underwater; the logistics and infrastructures that must necessarily be redesigned to ensure “blue growth” in order to guarantee sustainable development, as also recommended by the United Nations. It should not be forgotten, in fact, that the UN strongly wanted to establish the Decade of the Sea, recommending to all the institutions it represents to work towards a blue approach: “a blue cluster approach in the Ocean Decade”. “From Venice – concludes Cristiana Pagni – we are starting a road map of appointments and moments of confrontation, both national and international, which will take us to June 2023 when we will cut the ribbon of the eighth edition of SeaFuture ”.
