A flash mob through the streets of the city, between ballets and gags, to present the musical ‘Sister Act’ which will be staged at the Teatro Nazionale in Milan from Thursday 13 October, until 7 January. This is what happened today, in the Milanese capital, where citizens who passed through the center or on the underground lines, came across a group of truly special nuns. In a mix of incredulity and joy, many have wondered why those nuns approached people with a newspaper that featured a sister on the front page. Then the discovery that everything revolved around the presentation of ‘Sister Act’ and the avalanche of laughter, requests for selfies and much more: “Indeed -explains Giorgia, a 22-year-old student who has been playing the role of ‘Sister Maria’ all day long. – especially on the subway, people looked at us in amazement. Two elderly gentlemen asked us which convent we were coming from because in many years, nuns like this had never seen them. The younger ones, of course, did not hesitate to take a selfie with us and then post it on their social networks “. With this flash mob” we decided to make our musical proposal even more current and young “, explains Matteo Forte, CEO of Stage Entertainment, an American multinational producer of live shows and director of the National theaters and Lirico di Milano. After all, “being around people is the best way to invite them to see a show that is an ‘evergreen’ and that already promises very well. One of the reasons that prompted us to propose Sister Act for the 2022/23 season – continue – it is precisely to offer an opportunity for recreation. And our musical is synonymous with pure fun that wants to contribute to offering a pleasant moment of lightheartedness “. The staging of the show will be completely new, with the direction of Chiara Noschese, the choreography of Nadia Scherani and the musical direction of Andrea Calandrini. The original music is signed by the eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken, who recreated the musical atmospheres of those years ranging from soul to funk to the most famous hits of the disc and making ‘Sister Act’ a sparkling musical comedy.
