Space, NASA probe hits asteroid Dimorphos

NASA’s Dart spacecraft intentionally collided with the asteroid Dimorphos to alter its trajectory, giving rise to the first defense test of its kind. The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (Dart) was in fact the first mission to attempt to remove a dangerous object by means of a direct experiment, according to the director of the space mission Thomas Zurbuchen. NASA live streamed the approach of the unmanned spacecraft as it moved closer and closer to the asteroid.
