In place of Cashback, the ATM Bonus: up to 480 euros for merchants and VAT numbers

The new incentive involves merchants or businesses, art or professions holders of VAT numbers who use devices to allow card transactions. The decree n. 99/2021 defined the procedures available to merchants for the so-called ATM bonus, which aims to encourage sellers to acquire Pos. “Article 22-bis. Tax credit for the purchase, rental or use of tools that allow forms of electronic payment and for the connection with electronic recorders. To business, art or professional operators who sell goods or services to final consumers and who, between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, purchase, rent or use instruments that allow forms of electronic payment connected to the instruments referred to in Article 2, paragraph 3, of Legislative Decree no. 127, a tax credit is due, parameterised to the cost of purchase, rental, use of the instruments themselves, as well as the agreement costs or expenses incurred for the technical connection between the aforementioned instruments “. Some important incentives have been introduced, starting with the tax credit that is recognized for the purchase and use of the Pos connected to the cash register. That is, if you buy or rent electronic payment instruments during 2022, you will be able to benefit from a contribution of 320 euros, even if there are still limitations, based on the turnover recorded during the previous tax period. Those who decide to equip themselves with these tools for the first time will also have the right to access an additional tax credit of 160 euros, again according to turnover restrictions. The expenditure incurred can be doubled if advanced electronic payment instruments are purchased, i.e. those that allow the electronic storage and telematic transmission of transactions. Specifically, those who register revenues between 1 and 5 million euros will be able to receive 10% of the amount spent for the purchase / rental of electronic devices, those who register revenues between 200 thousand and 1 million euros instead access 40%, finally, for revenues under 200 thousand euros, the percentage available is 70%. As regards, on the other hand, the purchase / rental costs of technologically advanced electric payment instruments, the reimbursement reaches 70% with revenues between 200 thousand and 1 million euros and 40% with revenues between 1 million and 5 million.
