The third edition of Carovana dei Ghiacciai is starting

The third edition of Carovana dei Ghiacciai, the traveling campaign promoted by Legambiente as part of the ChangeClimateChange campaign, with the scientific partnership of the Italian Glaciological Committee, with supporting partners Sammontana and Frosta and technical partner Ephoto, is starting. A five-stage journey, from 17 August to 3 September, which will monitor the health of a dozen Alpine glaciers, increasingly at risk due to the climate crisis. The first stage of the 2022 Caravan of the Glaciers journey in Valle d’Aosta on the Miage and Pré de Bar glaciers (Mont Blanc), respectively Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 August. Two days dedicated to the excursion and observation of glacial morphologies and recent environmental variations, to reflections on climate change and adaptation needs and moments of art with the solemn greeting to the glacier, a tribute to their beauty and their silent work and precious service. It will end on Friday 19 August with the press conference in Aosta at the Hôtel des Etats at 10 am.
