Microsoft has decided to invest in gaming on blockchain, and to do so it has subsidized Share Heroes, a shooter game set in space. It can be played in third person and the user fights either alone or in multiplayer mode, in order to climb the leaderboard online with players from all over the world, or as a single adventure. Share Heroes is based on the Web3 concept of “Play and Earn”, with players earning cryptocurrencies. The news of Microsoft’s investment comes a few weeks after Bill Gates had declared that for him crypto and NFT are “nonsense”, in fact he had explained that cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens are based on the so-called theory of the most foolish, or the one that argues that the price of an asset only rises if the owner is able to sell it to someone more foolish than him. After these ideas expressed by the founder of Microsoft, it was certainly not thought that his company was interested in the sector.
