In search of gravitational waves, the scientific collaboration Einstein Telescope is born

Scientists – a real community – working on the Et Einstein Telescope project for the construction of the future pioneering European gravitational wave observatory formally sanctioned the birth of the Einstein Telescope Scientific Collaboration, during the XII Et Symposium held at the Academy Hungarian University of Sciences in Budapest, 7 and 8 June. During the Symposium, the Et Collaboration Council was established, chaired by the German Harald Lueck of the Max Planck Institute and composed of representatives of each of the 79 research groups that are part of the collaboration. During the first meeting of the Board, the Collaboration also discussed the new statute of Einstein Telescope that will govern the future of the experiment, and initiated the procedures to establish the committees necessary for the technical and organizational functioning of the collaboration. With the birth of the Et Collaboration, the symposium thus lays a milestone in the long journey of the Einstein Telescope.
