Excise duties, tourist tax and RAI fee: these are the levies at the top of the top ten most hated taxes by Italians according to a study by Krls Network of Business Ethics for Contribuenti.it Italian Taxpayers Association-Aps conducted through the Taxpayer Desk. According to the survey, the tax most disliked by Italians is that of excise duties on petrol, electricity and methane which this year have significantly increased the cost of fuel and all electricity and gas bills. In second place is the tourist tax received by the Municipalities, three out of four citizens deem it illegitimate for Italian citizens. In third place is the Rai license, which was also the most evaded tax. In fourth place is VAT which, with the ordinary rate at 22%, exceeds all other major European countries such as Luxembourg at 17%, Malta at 18%, Germany, Romania and Cyprus at 19%. But what taxpayers find most absurd is the differentiation of the tax rate between diapers and diapers, prams and wheelchairs. The ever-green ‘car tax’ remains in fifth place. Following in sixth place we find Imu-Tasi-Tari and Tares; on the seventh health tickets; eighth, the contributions for land reclamation consortia; ninth place in IRAP and finally in tenth in personal income tax.
