Promote synergies and cooperation between Italy and Finland in the ecological transition and smart mobility sector, strengthening the contribution of Kone Italia in sustainability policies. This was the purpose of the visit of the Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari and Ambassador Pia Rantala-Engberg to the production units of Kone. A visit included in a broader program of meetings, scheduled from 2 to 5 May, with the Italian minister for innovation and digital transition Vittorio Colao, the minister of economic development Giancarlo Giorgetti, the minister responsible for infrastructure and sustainable mobility , Enrico Giovannini. An important event that allowed, among other things, to illustrate Kone’s most innovative technological solutions, such as the Kone 24/7 system, Kone Api robot and Kone Elevator Call. Accompanying Minister Skinnari to the operational headquarters of Kone were Giovanni Lorino, Ad Kone SpA, Maria Morandi, Director of the operational unit of Kone Industrial SpA and Paolo Angelucci, Svp of Kone Supply Chain. The theme that guided all the meetings was that of smart mobility and all intelligent solutions that promote sustainability in every cycle of production and marketing of products. To this end, Minister Skinnari met with the main operators of the Italian automotive industry, “since Italy’s competence in this sector is known”, he said. “Global trends in the transport sector – added Skinnari – such as cars autonomous vehicles, the growing role of services in transport and the electrification of the automobile have also brought Finland to the forefront of intelligent mobility. Finnish companies can offer world-class innovations that promote the development of smart and resource-efficient mobility solutions ”. The meeting confirmed Kone’s willingness to continue investing in Italy and to launch new technological research projects, in the name of smart and sustainable mobility. “Kone Italia is fully part of this vision of a sustainable future which, with foresight, has guided the production and commercial choices of recent years – we have been honored and gratified by Minister Skinnari’s attention to our reality and by sharing strategies and projects that go in a single direction and which for some time has represented our “mission”: to make cities better places to live ”, concluded Lorino.
