The Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp (KMSKA) is the first museum in Europe to launch an innovative funding method to expand its collection. For a few days on the Rubey platform it has been possible to purchase a virtual share of a work of art through the Art Security Token Offering. Art lovers and the general public can in fact become “co-owners” of James Ensor’s Binche Carnival: those interested can invest in a part of the work, starting from 150 euros. Through the initiative, the museum strengthens its collection and at the same time offers everyone the opportunity to invest in art, while the work will be exhibited on the occasion of the reopening of the KMSKA, on 24 September 2022.
