I-Tech Innovation 2021: 8 accelerated startups with a 1 million euro fund

May 12, 2021

The call was launched by Crif and the Golinelli Foundation for innovative start-ups in three strategic sectors. The 8 projects, which passed the final screening of the selection among over 200 applications received from Italy and abroad, are, respectively, 3 in Fintech / Insurtech, 2 in FoodTech / Agritech and 3 in Life Sciences / Digital Health. The total investment is 1 million euros. The objective of I-Tech Innovation 2021 is immediately to encourage the creation of a new entrepreneurship with a high innovative and technological content, by investing in Italian sectors of excellence, and in the long term to help make up for Italy’s serious lag in technological field. The selected start-ups will now be involved in G-Force, the acceleration program of G-Factor, the incubator-accelerator of the Golinelli Foundation aimed at emerging entrepreneurial realities. The teams will have the opportunity to undertake a 7-month support path for the development of their business models, with an intensive first phase until July, and a second remote follow-up phase. Carlo Gherardi, CEO of Centrale Financial Risks (Crif), an Italian business information company that provides support for the provision and management of consumer credit, explained: “Crif’s involvement in the I-Tech Innovation project is based on the desire to provide selected start-ups with a clear strategic vision, advanced skills and more than thirty years of experience gained on the most competitive markets globally. Our ambition is to become a point of reference for young companies in the Fintech, Insurtech and Agritech sectors who want to undertake a structured growth path. The brilliant ideas that we collected during the selection phase were many and it was very difficult to identify the innovation projects with the greatest potential to be truly successful. Our role will be precisely to help the selected start-ups to express their full potential in order to find a space on the market. In this regard, we are also thinking of a community program with ad hoc initiatives extended to all the start-ups that have participated in the call and are interested in embarking on a path of accompaniment with Crif “. Bit & Coffee offers Core Solution, a cloud platform for the creation and management of estimates, electronic invoices (Pa, B2B and B2C) and related payments, with status updates in real time and directly connected with tax authorities and banks. Criptalia is a blockchain-based platform that combines peer-to-peer crowdlending as an alternative form of lending for small and medium-sized businesses with an AI-based robo-advisor solution to assist investors in choosing a project. Fintastico is one of the main Italian web portals for researching digital and innovative financial services, with over 18,000 users and more than 70,000 visitors per month. Biorfarm is a virtual agricultural community where people and companies can adopt or give trees, follow their cultivation online and then receive fresh products at home, directly from the fields to the table. Latitudo 40 srl has created a fully automated unified data analysis platform capable of automatically extracting information from satellite images. Drug Discovery Clinics srl, InSimili and NovaVido are, on the other hand, the 3 start-ups selected by the Golinelli Foundation in the Life Sciences / Digital Health sector.
