Colao visits the Aruba campus data center

the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition, Vittorio Colao, visited the Aruba Global Cloud Data Center. The innovative technological center, recently built and with structure and systems compliant with the highest safety standards in the sector – Rating 4 Ansi / Tia 942-B), is located in Ponte San Pietro, in the province of Bergamo, and, with its 200,000 square meters of surface area, it is the largest campus data center in Italy. The visit, led by the landlord Stefano Cecconi, CEO of Aruba, and which took place yesterday afternoon, “was also an opportunity to see the work in progress of the campus expansion site that will lead to the imminent activation of two more data center, one of which by the end of 2021 “reports the Italian player of data center services, web hosting, e-mail and domain name registration. In detail, Data Center B will have a fully operational capacity of 9 MW, the 8 MW Data Center C. These two new modules will go alongside Data Center A, the object of the visit, which has 12 MW and is now almost at full capacity. Aruba ensures that all the infrastructures on the campus “are green by design: they use, in fact, energy resources from renewable sources including photovoltaics, hydroelectricity – thanks to the hydroelectric plant on the Brembo river located within the area – and systems high efficiency, such as the geothermal one that uses groundwater to cool the data rooms “. Finally, the Italian company explains that these aspects make it possible to “offset consumption, minimizing the energy impact of our Data Centers and, consequently, the environmental impact”.
