Easter, ‘shepherd-saving’ lamb in 4 out of 10 plates

Almost four out of 10 Italians will bring lamb meat to the table at Easter to respect traditions but also to support the survival of the 60,000 shepherds severely affected by the increase in production costs linked to the war in Ukraine. This is what emerges from a Coldiretti / Ixe ‘survey. The effects of the conflict are also felt on tricolor sheep farming with an estimated decline in income of over 50%, putting a profession rich in tradition at risk.
