Tabacco, Fioroni (Umbria): “From the Mipaaf-Philip Morris agreement, important implications also for the region”

The regional councilor of Umbria for economic development, Michele Fioroni, intervenes on the agreement signed between the ministry of agricultural, food and forestry policies and Philip Morris for the development of the Italian tobacco supply chain. “Umbria – underlines the commissioner Fioroni – is becoming more and more a protagonist of the tobacco industry in Italy. This is the message that comes from the Mipaaf and Philip Morris agreement, which provides for an investment of 100 million euros in Italy, aimed at 1,000 agricultural companies in Umbria, Campania, Veneto and Tuscany. “” The agreement – adds the commissioner – focuses on sustainability, agriculture 4.0 and training of young farmers, according to an approach that strongly supports the integration of the agricultural and industrial chain.
