New tools for the energy of SMEs, Axpo launches the Green Flexy Ppa

Axpo launches Green Flexy Ppa, new energy tools for medium and small Italian companies. These are medium-term supply agreements for energy from renewable sources and at a fixed price. The Green Flexy Ppa represent an evolution of the Green Route, a path designed by Axpo to facilitate access to Corporate Ppa (long-term agreements for the purchase and supply of renewable energy) and focus on the concept of flexibility to meet the needs of SMEs that are increasingly asking to be able to access solutions of this type that are capable of facilitating their economic and environmental sustainability. Their duration is between 3 and 5 years compared to 10 years (or more) for traditional PPAs. Furthermore, they make it possible to obtain energy at a fixed price for the entire time interval of the contract and 100% renewable (up to 20 GWh of consumption), coming from wind or photovoltaic plants belonging to the Axpo portfolio. The Green Flexy Ppa then offer the opportunity to increase or decrease the demand for sustainable energy based on one’s needs. The strategy of Axpo Italia, currently the third largest operator in the High Voltage segment in Italy and which supplies energy to Italian companies for a value of almost 5,000 Gwh, is to enhance, thanks to Green Flexy Ppa, its offer for corporate sustainability Italian companies, also making a tool available to SMEs to contribute directly to the development of renewable sources, in line with national and international decarbonisation objectives. “Small and medium-sized enterprises – explains Simone Demarchi, CEO of Axpo Italy – have been affected by the dizzying increase in bills that has occurred in recent times. Through the Green Flexy Ppa, Axpo aims to tackle this energy and economic, demonstrating its closeness to the realities that make up the heart of the Italian productive fabric and making them protagonists of the green economy. We believe that energy inclusion and sustainability are the principles by which it is possible to accelerate the spread of renewable sources “. The Green Flexy Ppa allow to enhance the experience of Axpo on the proposal of innovative tools to support the transition. Furthermore, they intend to support and accelerate the development process of Corporate PPAs, in order to allow Axpo Italia to reach a volume of 16,000 GWh from renewable sources by 2025, in line with the sustainability objectives defined by the company.
