Alemanno, Cassation ruling: acquitted of corruption

Acquittal for the former mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno, accused as part of the excerpt procedure on ‘Mafia capital’. This was decided by the judges of the Sixth Criminal Section of the Supreme Court who canceled without postponement the accusations of corruption against Alemanno. The judges also decided to carry out a new appeal process to redetermine the sentence, re-qualifying the crime in the traffic of influences, for the case of the unblocking of Eur Spa payments. “A nightmare that lasted 7 years ends” commented Alemanno. “First mafia then corrupt, only small traffic influences remain”. “There is no more corruption, nothing more than the mud they threw at me,” he adds.
