For this reason, Leonardo has deployed an advanced radio network to support the summit of the Ministers of Finance and the Governors of the Central Banks of the most industrialized countries in the world, which will take place in the Venetian capital on 9 and 10 July. The Italian tech giant underlines that it has put in place “in a few days a Tetra-Terrestrial Trunked Radio communication infrastructure (the international standard for mission critical communications) for the Public Security Forces that will monitor the event, which will thus be able to carry out rapid intervention in the event of an emergency and ensuring the highest standards of protection for the area affected by the summit, for the population and for the territory “. The network provided by the company, consisting of stations and radio links located in strategic places in the city, will guarantee secure digital communications and widespread radio coverage of the Venice City and Mestre area, but also of the lagoon and the beaches, up to the gates of Padua and Treviso, for a total area of about 1000 square kilometers. Leonardo explains that “some stations have also been set up in the operations center from which the security of the G20 will be managed, for the coordination of information from the almost 600 communication terminals that will be used by the forces in the field and the location of resources in the area. The network it is also prepared for interoperability with broadband devices “. International leader in the field of mission critical communications and the only Italian multinational dedicated to the protection of strategic technologies for the country’s security, Leonardo has already been a technological partner of major events between such as the 2017 G7 in Taormina, Expo Milano 2015, the 2009 G8 in L’Aquila, and sporting events such as Cortina 2021, 1000 Miglia 2021 and 2020, the Commonwealth Games 2018 and 2014, the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the 2013 World Cycling Championships, the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
