Fuels, lower petrol and diesel prices: excise duty cuts from today

The cut in excise duties on fuels starts today. The decrees decided in the CDM last week containing the urgent measures to counter the economic and social effects of the Ukraine-Russia war have been published in the Official Gazette. As a result of this cut, fuel prices will fall. Among the other interventions in force from today there are also the tax on the extra-profits of energy companies, equal to 10% for 2022 alone and which will have to be paid next June. The government has also strengthened refugee reception measures, as well as increased support for companies in difficulty. The decree published in the Gazzetta also contains the strengthening of the golden power in the telecommunications sector.
