Syngenta and Riso Gallo together for sustainability

Syngenta and Riso Gallo have been collaborating for years with a focus on two key themes such as sustainability and innovation. Also for this reason the Syngenta Innovation Tour could not fail to stop in Robbio where Riso Gallo is based. “We came to Robbio at the Riso Gallo site with our Innovation Tour, a tour of Italy in which we want to bring Syngenta’s innovation in favor of Italian agriculture that expresses excellence everywhere”, explains Riccardo Vanelli, managing director of Syngenta Italia. “With our support we want to contribute to an increasingly sustainable and at the same time productive agriculture. For the Riso Gallo supply chain we have deployed cutting-edge tools such as agriculture 4.0 with our Cropwise platform which guarantees better monitoring in the field and sustainable management of technical inputs. We have now associated other key elements for biodiversity support such as Operation Pollinator and waste water management through Heliosec. These are concrete examples with which Syngenta wants to make an important contribution to the Made in Italy of Italian agriculture ”, he adds. “Sustainability is important and it will be more and more – explains Riccardo Preve, CEO of Riso Gallo – It must be seen at 360 degrees, not only within the plant but throughout the supply chain. With our commitment over the last four years we have created a supply chain with over 120 certified sustainable farms that follow our Rice Charter with some additional requirements compared to the normal classification of sustainable agriculture. We have had a collaboration with Syngenta that has lasted for many years and through them we distribute to companies useful tools to improve the sustainable aspect of the crop, bringing new technologies and productivity improvements with consequent advantages that are also economic “.
