NFTs to conquer the US stock exchange

After having conquered the public and famous people, NFTs are also starting to appeal to high finance. The New York Stock Exchange filed a trademark registration application for the term “NYSE” associated with a non-fungible token marketplace, setting the stage for the creation of a virtual trading venue for cryptocurrencies and NFTs. If the NYSE really does launch its marketplace, it would compete with the current top market player OpenSea – valued at $ 13.3 billion after its latest funding round – but also with SuperRare and Rarible. A NYSE spokesperson has however stated that the company currently has no plans to launch a cryptocurrency or NFT trading service, rather the operation would be due to the desire to protect their intellectual property rights. Many of those who do not yet know what NFTs are remain perplexed looking at those who, on the other hand, are willing to pay staggering amounts to buy “objects” that in reality – at least physically – do not exist. As with any new opportunity, scams and low-quality operations lurk, from which it is recommended to stay away. The NYSE is no stranger to the world of non-fungible tokens. In April 2021, he created his first series of NFTs to commemorate the first trades of six well-known quotes.
