Draghi and Giorgetti inaugurate the ‘brilliant Italy’ exhibition at Mise

Design, the creative effort of genius applied to technology, is at the same time a model and a driving force for our economic growth, because it contains the unique ability to combine beauty and functionality, producing extraordinary objects, thus generating work and wealth “.” There are exhibited – underlined Giorgetti – objects of the twentieth century ranging from fashion, furniture, lighting to get to the aeronautical sector up to the most emerging technologies. We are faced with a real detailed manifesto of our industrial design – he concluded – a journey into the twentieth century through some of our most creative products that show how innovation, research and technology are at the service of everyday life. Italian and the progress made in the industry sector by our country, is the first event in a calendar of cultural initiatives that will take place in 2022 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Dicastery’s headquarters. The exhibition, already set up in the Italian Pavilion at “Expo 2020 Dubai”, was promoted in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Commissioner for Expo 2020 Dubai, ADI (Association for industrial design), Unioncamere and Italian trade agency. Among the objects on display, capable of combining beauty and functionality and ranging from fashion to furniture, from lighting to the automotive and aeronautical sectors to emerging technologies, there are true world icons of design and research: Isetta, prima 1950s city car designed by the Italian genius, the Valentine typewriter by Olivetti, the bottle of Campari Soda, the Moka Bialetti, the Mirella sewing machine by Necchi, the Poltrona Frau Vanity Fair, the Conico Alessi kettle, the Algol portable television by Brionvega, the Atollo bedside lamp, the Brembo braking system used by Ferrari, the Sacco armchair, the Stone Island thermosensitive jackets, the pu Zenith metal elements, the Tolomeo lamp, the Piaggio electric Vespa. The exhibition will be open to the public in via Veneto, Rome, until 13 March.
