Loan requests from households boom in January: + 27%

Demand for loans from households is growing. This is what emerges from the Crif Barometer for the period of January compared to the same month of 2021. This is a + 27.0% of loan requests, aimed at the purchase of goods and services compared to + 14.0%, marked by personal loans. The ongoing trend is undoubtedly also affected by the constant growth in requests submitted by consumers under the age of 35, which overall reached 25.0% of the total (thus becoming the most represented segment of the population, ahead of 45-54 year-olds, which weigh 24.4%). Further evidence that emerges from the Crif study concerns the average amount of loans requested, which in the aggregate of personal and finalized loans in the first month of the year stood at 8,191 Euros, -13.1% compared to the January value 2021. After the discontinuous trends that characterized 2021, the Crif Barometer in January saw a new contraction in the number of requests for real estate loans, which recorded a -28.2% primarily due to the downsizing of subrogations, offset by the liveliness of loans, which overall in personal and finalized loans saw an increase of + 22.1% compared to the corresponding month of 2021.
