Infrastructure, Cipess assigns 6.3 billion for complementary and additional works to the NRP

Green light from the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development (Cipess) to the advance of more than 4.7 billion euros from the Development and Cohesion Fund (period 2021-2027) for infrastructural works that can be immediately set up to which 1.6 are added billions of programmed strategic interventions whose implementation will take place as soon as the technical-economic feasibility plan is available. The resources, which 80% are assigned to the South, finance interventions that are in continuity and consistency with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr) and with the Complementary National Plan (Pnc), for the financing of projects in railway, road and water fields. This was announced in a joint note by the ministries of sustainable infrastructure and mobility and for the South and territorial cohesion. This is an anticipation that the Minister for the South and Territorial Cohesion, Mara Carfagna, submitted for the approval of the Cipess, pending the definition of the Development and Cohesion Plans 2021-27, for the implementation of interventions that are an advanced stage of planning. The choice made by the Government is to strengthen the infrastructural endowment of the country, and above all of the South, beyond what has already been foreseen with the PNRR and the PNC, through the implementation of projects also selected on the basis of the sustainable development goals. of the 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal, in line with those of the NRP and the NCP. In particular, the total figure of over 6.3 billion euros is divided as follows: 5.4 billion euros (of which 4.4 in the South) are intended for so-called ‘flag projects’ for fair and sustainable infrastructures, which see Anas, RFI, Port System Authorities, Regions or regional concessionaires, Provinces or Municipalities as implementing bodies; 833 million are instead earmarked for works of territorial interest for programs that the Regions and Autonomous Provinces will manage in concert with the bodies concerned.
