Tourism, for 2 out of 3 entrepreneurs no recovery in the first quarter of 2022

For two out of three hospitality businesses, there will not be a recovery in tourist flows even in the first quarter of 2022. This is what emerges from a survey conducted by Assoturismo on over a thousand hotels, b & bs and other tourist accommodation companies and disseminated exclusively by ‘Adnkronos. Unfortunately, the sudden and unexpected slowdown in party bookings, in terms of timing and extent, is also projected into the first months of 2022. In fact, 42.7% of the entrepreneurs interviewed are convinced that the situation will remain the same as that of the last part of 2021 and 22.5% even foresee a further slowdown, only 35% of entrepreneurs foresee a recovery in traveler arrivals. Expectations are quite differentiated by geographical area and by product. In fact, for the structures of marine areas, countryside or hills and lakes, indications of stability or decrease in flows prevail, unlike those which, in the last period, have already operated in particularly difficult conditions, for which the market improvement expectations. It is a complex supply chain because, for example, the companies of seaside tourism in the summer have worked and have a different vision from the cities of art that have been stopped from the beginning of the pandemic until the All Saints’ Bridge and their vision is of improvement. of flows because they come from absolute zero, at the beginning of November they saw a mini recovery and now they are stopped again. Therefore, the difficulties of planning business activities will persist, which could be partially mitigated by the last minute choices of tourists.
