Webuild in the field for the development of global infrastructures

The signing of the contract with Texas Central to design and build the civil infrastructure component of the high-speed line is the new stage of a path that has seen Webuild carry out, in its 115-year history, over 2,000 projects in the most complex situations both from the naturalistic point of view (deserts, forests) and metropolitan (large cities with complex mobility to manage in the construction phases). Each work is a mark of distinction for a group that works in 50 countries, employing 70,000 people of over 100 nationalities.The Group, which operates in the United States with Lane Construction (about 130 years of history), boasts a long experience in railway infrastructure sector around the world, and in particular for complex high-speed, high-capacity systems – with a track record of 13,637 km of railways and subways (as of 1960). It is currently carrying out high-speed rail projects such as the tunnel del Brennero – the longest underground railway connection in the world -, the new Genoa-Milan “Terzo Valico dei Giovi” and Naples-Bari lines, in Italy, and the new “Orient Express” in Turkey between Istanbul and the border with Bulgaria . Through Lane Construction he recently built the Lynx Blue Line Extension (BLE) in North Carolina. Lane’s Texas experience includes several completed projects including the Fort Worth Alliance Airport Runway Extension, I-35W Improvements, I-35 Improvements (with the Brazos River Bridge) as well as SH 360 South Toll Road and IH -35E Management Lanes. Phase III Extension of 183A Tollway is currently underway. The Group’s experience includes projects for large metro systems in cities such as New York, San Francisco, Paris, Copenhagen, Milan, Rome, Lima, Riyadh and Doha. The Group is also engaged in the implementation of iconic projects in all infrastructure sectors, such as the Rogun Dam in Tajikistan – the highest in the world -, the Snowy 2.0 hydroelectric project in Australia, the Northeast Boundary Tunnel in Washington DC, the Al stadium Bayt for the 2022 world cup in Qatar.
