Nestlé invests over 200 million in Italy in the three-year period, a beacon on sustainability

Nestlé’s commitment to invest and create value in Italy will also continue in the coming years through an investment plan of over 200 million euros for the three-year period 2021 – 2023 with the aim of continuing to encourage innovation and transform the factories of the Group in real Hubs, with international capacity, which combine food excellence and sustainability. This is what emerges from the study, drawn up by Althesys Strategic Consultant, on the socio-economic impact of Nestlé’s activity in our country entitled “Nestlé creates value for Italy”. Equally significant are the efforts that the Group is making globally to protect our planet, from using 100% recyclable or reusable packaging by 2025, to achieving zero CO2 emissions by 2050 (with a 50% reduction by 2030), up to the commitments to encourage regenerative agriculture along the entire supply chain and the transition to renewable energy sources. Italy, as underlined by the CEO and president of the Nestlé Italy and Malta Group, Marco Travaglia, during the presentation of the study, is confirmed among the leaders of the Group thanks to the important results already achieved such as, for example, 96% of already recyclable packaging and a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions in the last 10 years.
