Milan at work for the ‘supersalone’ of design

For the first time the whole world of Milanese design together to prepare for the September event. Yesterday, in the presence of the Mayor Giuseppe Sala, a meeting took place at the Milan Triennale that brought together the different realities that will participate in the design days in September, starting for the first time an important dialogue between the project of the Salone del Mobile in Fiera and programming in the city. The aim of the meeting was to create a synergy between all those involved in the event and communicate to the world the image of a Milan that is once again the world capital of design. The meeting – promoted by Triennale Milano and coordinated by Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano and curator of the September supersalone – was attended by Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, Stefano Bruno Galli, Councilor for Autonomy and Culture of the Lombardy Region, Cristina Tajani , Councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities, Commerce and Human Resources of the Municipality of Milan, Claudio Feltrin, President of FederlegnoArredo, Claudio Capasa President of the Chamber of Fashion, Luca Palermo, CEO of Fiera Milano, and many historical realities of the Fuorisalone and the world of design such as Matteo Vercelloni of INTERNI, Rossana Orlandi, Paolo Casati of Brera Design District, Gisella Borioli of Superstudio, Katia Jorfida of Rota & Jorfida, Livia Peraldo Matton, director of Elle Decor Italia, Alessandro Beulcke of Il Verde e il Blu Festival, Emanuele Tessarolo of 5VIE Design District, Cesare Castelli of Milan Maker, Marco Sammicheli, Superintendent of the Museum of Italian Design in Trien Milan, and Maria Porro, President of Assarredo. Over 80 representatives of 35 organizations took part in the meeting: from the districts of Fuorisalone to private foundations, from ADI to the network of business museums represented by President Antonio Calabrò, from publishers to communication professionals. Also present were Federalbergatori Assolombarda and APAM – Provincial Hoteliers Association of Milan. “The next edition of the supersalone – said the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala – will be of extraordinary importance because it will be a test of our effective restart but also of our desire to transform ourselves into something again. We must not go back to the past, perhaps with a few more limits, but be protagonists of a real change. It is a reflection that I have shared with the mayors of other major cities in the world where, as here in Milan, we are experiencing a phase of great transition brought forward by an idea of ​​greener and fairer growth. In all this, design can really be our ally, I am convinced. This is why I warmly welcome the spirit of today’s meeting. It is no longer time for debates, time for action.
