Vittoria Assicurazioni celebrates 100 years looking to the future

Vittoria Assicurazioni celebrates its first hundred years of life by retracing its long path and looking to the future. The foundation in fact dates back to 21 September 1921 when some Italian entrepreneurs took over the Italian portfolio of the London company The Excess Insurances Ltd, creating the new company The Italian Excess Insurance Company. In the Fascist era, the name changed, while the first listing on the stock exchange dates back to 1988. Ten years after the overcoming of 1 billion Lire in premiums and in 2017 the first Sustainability Report. Finally comes the birth of Vittoria hub, the first Insurtech incubator in Italy dedicated to Open Innovation. “Innovation is a key theme for Vittoria – explains Matteo Campaner, general manager of Vittoria Assicurazioni – In the recent past we have used innovation mainly to make internal processes more efficient, in the near future it will serve to expand the offer set. Vittoria hub plays a fundamental role in this because it works to develop an integrated system of guarantees and services. Not only for remedies but also for prevention, monitoring, assistance and prompt intervention. In this, technology is important because it allows the customer to access these services in a simple way. Vittoria hub is already active, it is already collaborating with six startups operating in four ecosystems connected to the home, the person, mobility and companies “. Technological advancement certainly represents one of the crucial points for the next development of the Company, but it is not the only one. Vittoria Assicurazioni, in fact, has set itself other goals to be achieved in the short and long term. “We have a very significant position in the automotive world that we want to maintain and strengthen, but above all we want to develop an equally important position in the world of elementary branches. – declares Campaner – We do it through two levers. The first is Vittoria con te which allows the customer to customize their product and buy only what they need with a flexible contract that can be modified at any time. The second is the direct knowledge of the customer that we reach through the territorial control. We have the will to further strengthen our brokerage network by looking for agents, sub-agents and collaborators thanks to initiatives that are already underway “. A development plan aimed at replicating, or even improving, the positive results recorded by the Company in 2021. The consolidated financial report at 30 September 2021 (IFRS accounting principles), in fact, expresses a Group net profit of € 85.6 million and Group shareholders’ equity amounting to € 828.8 million, with an increase of 8.2% compared to the amount of € 765.7 million at 31 December 2020. The Combined Ratio, on the other hand, reaches 88%. Successes that Vittoria wanted to share with her entire community: “The sense of community is very important to us – says Campaner – the anniversary represents an opportunity to share gratitude with the people who have enabled the Company to reach this goal. The employees, to whom we have awarded a special prize, and the agents, the real protagonists of the Grazie 100 poster campaign which involved the main Italian cities “. This is therefore a central concept for the Compagnia which it also wanted to include in the first institutional campaign entitled “The Community”.
