Companies, Corneliani ‘method’ saves Sicamb, Invitalia enters with 4.5 million

The ‘Corneliani’ method also saves Sicamb of Latina, a historic company in Agro Pontino specialized in the production of ejection seats and components for the aeronautical sector, which currently employs about 290 workers: the company restructuring plan filed today provides for a total capital increase of 9.4 million euros of the company, with the support of the safeguard fund, managed by Invitalia on behalf of the Mise, which supported the operation with a minority shareholding of 4.5 million euro alongside St engineering, which entered with a contribution of 2 million euro. It is Mise that announces the ‘turning point’ in the relaunch of the company: overall, it is estimated, the operation activated, thanks also to further interventions by the shareholders, amounts to almost 15 million euros with which the company will be in a position to to follow up on the industrial plan which focuses on productive investments to acquire further competitive advantages in the sector of ejection seats and in the aerostructures market. The most satisfied of all is Alessandra Todde, Deputy Minister for Development and ‘sponsor’, in May 2020 with Minister Stefano Patuanelli in the Conte 2 government, of the Safeguard Fund whose Board of Directors, to date, has given the green to about 7 operations of intervention, the first with the ‘rescue’ of the historic Corneliani company, which involved about 2,400 jobs. The Fund allows the State, through Invitalia, in fact, to enter the capital of companies in crisis for a maximum amount of 10 million euro and a period not exceeding 5 years: among the companies ‘rescued’ by the state also Slim Fusina, WalCor, Canepa, Salp and Cerutti. “Sicamb has a strong international vocation and counts among its customers the main aircraft manufacturers including Leonardo, Airbus, Boeing, Mitsubishi Kawasaky and Dassault”, explains Todde before announcing that he has already convened a plenary meeting to discuss the company’s restart plan. The Minister of Economic Development, Giancarlo Giorgetti, is also satisfied. “Every time a company finds a new possibility and therefore a future for its workers is a day of joy for me. Seeing that what I proudly call the ‘Corneliani method’ works repays us for so many efforts “, he says giving credit to the” courage of private investors thanks to which it is possible to activate the safeguard fund, therefore the concrete commitment of the State, to help to get out of momentary difficulties those companies that are still able to walk on their own legs. We will continue to monitor this process with discretion and attention so that the relaunch of Sicamb is complete ”, he concludes.
