Games, appeal institutions and Codere: “Without clear national rules there is no security”

Regulating the legal gaming sector at national level and defining the correct gaming offer in the territory: with these objectives Codere Italia conceived and promoted the meeting “In the Name of Legality – Without rules there is no safe game”, hosted at the Center congresses of the Municipality of Rivoli, in which national and local institutions, representatives of the police and researchers took part. The game is an activity that involves millions of people, belonging to different social groups, territories and age groups, and which has always had an important playful and social value. In Piedmont alone, it is estimated that the tax revenue deriving from the legal gaming offer is around 641 million euros (2019 CGIA Mestre study). This social need requires a regulated and controlled supply framework, to avoid dangerous drift. “Regulating and monitoring gambling in one’s own territory is a duty of every public administration – underlined Paolo Dabbene, Councilor for Industry, Commerce, Crafts, Labor , administrative police, territorial pact, administrative health, food safety and Sportello Europa of the Municipality of Rivoli – The possible negative implications are in fact many, not only of criminal infiltration but also for the risks of social hardship that can affect those affected by pathological gambling .
