Faro Luiss and Ie University on higher education: “It will be a global catalyst in the post-pandemic”

Digitization and innovation for more sustainable teaching, but also greater connection with the corporate and institutional ecosystem to build the higher education of the future. These are the trajectories of the post-pandemic University that emerged from the XII edition of Reinventing Higher Education (Rhe), the annual conference on Education, organized this year in hybrid mode by Luiss Guido Carli and Ie University of Madrid which, between now and Tuesday, November 16, it brought together over 35 experts and authoritative representatives from the academic world, the media and the public and private sector from more than 25 countries. The Rhe international forum, since its launch in 2010, aims to be a platform through which exponents of Education can reflect on teaching and research at an international level and, together with representatives of companies and institutions, discuss innovations and transformations of models of teaching, with respect to the needs of a constantly evolving world of work. To open the 2021 edition, the Rector of Luiss Andrea Prencipe, the President of the Ie University of Madrid Santiago Iñiguez, who introduced the works of the first panel on the transformations of the post-Covid “new normal”. “During the pandemic we have attended an accelerated course of the future and for the future”, stressed Prencipe. “As a university, we are convinced that, in order to manage unforeseen crises and unexpected challenges that the post-Covid era will present us, students must acquire certain skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and flexibility” added the Rector of Luiss. The brainstorming – moderated by Andrew Jack, Global Education editor of the Financial Times – was also attended by the Minister of University and Research, Maria Cristina Messa, the President of the National Innovation Fund-Cdp Venture Capital, Francesca Bria, and of the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Enel Francesco Starace. “Higher education is a strategic chapter of the NRP”, said the minister Messa.
