“The World Environment Day this year dedicated to the restoration of ecosystems reminds us how important the daily work carried out by farmers in safeguarding the soils and biodiversity of the territories is”. Thus Piero Gattoni, president of Cib, the Italian Biogas Consortium, on the occasion of the anniversary celebrated on 5 June. “In recent years – adds Gattoni – the development of anaerobic digestion has made it possible to introduce in Italian farms a technological platform capable of producing renewable energy and providing ecosystem services in response to the climate emergency. The Government’s political agenda, also through the NRP, has recognized the central role of agricultural biogas production in the transition and in the decarbonization process. “” To allow the largest number of farms to seize this important opportunity to contribute to the protection of environment and our ecosystems, without sacrificing quality production, with the Farming for Future project the Cib has decided to share the experience gained by declining 10 actions to help farmers embark on the path towards the agroecological transition. I am convinced that each of us with small actions within our companies can contribute to building a better planet ”, concludes Gattoni.
