Indonesia expands tlc capacity, contract with Thales Alenia Space

A new satellite for Tlc is coming to Indonesia. Thales Alenia Space, the joint venture between Thales 67% and Leonardo 33%, has announced that it has signed a contract with Pt Telkom Satelit Indonesia (TelkomSat), the main telecommunications services company in Indonesia, to build Hts 113Bt, a new satellite for broadband telecommunications which will operate in C / Ku band from its orbital position at 113 ° East. Thales Alenia Space is the prime contractor of the program and is responsible for the design, construction, testing and delivery of the satellite, as well as initial phase of orbital positioning (Leop) and in-orbit tests (Iot). Thales Alenia Space will also provide the ground control segment and provide on-site training and support to the customer’s engineering team. In-orbit support will also be provided for the entire life cycle of the satellite. Based on the 4000B2 platform of Thales Alenia Space, HTS 113BT will provide more than 32 Gbps of capacity throughout the Indonesian territory.
