The surge in Covid infections frightens the United Kingdom. And after almost two weeks there has been an average of 45 thousand cases a day, the government of Boris Johnson is preparing to implement the ‘Plan B’ in England, reintroducing a series of restrictive measures, including the vaccination pass. The Guardian writes in its Sunday version, reporting that the health security agency, Ukhsa, on Friday contacted the various British local authorities to solicit their support for the “immediate implementation of the winter plan – Plan B”. The measures envisaged in the Plan, which was illustrated months ago as an emergency alternative to the end of the restrictions , include the introduction of vaccination passports for events with a large influx of people and the requirement to wear masks in some places. Johnson yesterday appealed to those over 50 to undergo the third dose of the vaccine. On Saturday, 44,985 new infections from Covid were recorded, over 4 thousand fewer than the previous day, with a further 135 deaths in England.
