Castex strangely arrested in Mayenne: “Did you receive my panties?” – The HuffPost

POLITICS – There are trips where politicians get shaken, there are others that are lighter. Jean Castex experienced it on Saturday 23 October during a stroll in the streets of Laval (Mayenne).

The scene was broadcast on social networks by the communications manager of Matignon, Mayada Boulos. “Hello Mr. Minister, have you received my panties?” launched a shopkeeper to the head of government. Amused, the latter retorted: “ah is it you Madam?” There weren’t enough! ”.

How is it that this Mayenne trader sent panties to Matignon? We must go back to the confinements put in place to fight against the Covid which had led to the closure of clothing stores to understand the arrest.

To protest against the closure of so-called “non-essential” businesses, lingerie saleswomen and textile shop managers had imagined this slight happening as a protest. They also asked to donate it, which the Prime Minister confirmed to have done during this exchange.

Panties to help textile stores

The shopkeeper in question, identified by The Dispatch like Cathy Le Boucher, wrote to the Prime Minister last April like two hundred of her colleagues, with this question: “Isn’t that the first thing we put on in the morning to dress, even you, Prime Minister?”, As reported at the time Le Figaro.

In return, Matignon replied: “You drew the Prime Minister’s attention to the situation of underwear shops, administratively closed in the context of the current health crisis”, which, according to The Dispatch, had not been very well received by the shopkeeper from Mayenne who “regretted a standard response sent to all the people who took the same step as her”. The reconciliation seems to have gone well.
