The marathon of fashion shows of Slovak established designers, brands, but also young talented designers ended the final third day of the Fashion LIVE! Event. The largest Slovak fashion festival took place from Friday to Sunday, and this year the organizers managed to combine exceptional architecture with a good dose of Slovak fashion.

A collection inspired by insulation in the countryside or the designer’s grandmother

The final evening of the fashion event evoked the strongest emotions in the visitors present. The three-day event took place in the industrial premises in the new center of the Niva and started the last day with a tour of the Ostrovská créateur studio by Blažena Ostrovská. After a long break, she presented herself with the new Hedwig collection.

“The collection is waste-free, because it is already needed today. She is also inspired by my grandmother Hedwig. She was always taught not to throw, but to process, “ said the designer. The gala evening continued with a collection by designer Lucie Kürthi, which focuses on women’s wearable fashion.

With its Let the light collection, it reflected on the recently experienced isolation spent in the countryside. As he says, it lacked the dynamics, light and colors of the city, and so the need for light points in life became the inspiration for the newly created collection. Colors are gradually revealed under ever-changing light, disappearing completely after dark or changing with lighting.

A characteristic element of the collection is the winding in combination with the layered orange detail present in several outfits. The garments are made of natural materials – silk, viscose, wool and cotton.

It was followed by a color show of Lenka Sršňová. In her latest work, the designer was again inspired by the world of flowers. The models in the BLOOM collection are literally dotted with flowers. Elegant prints, unique materials or flowers protruding from the pattern into the surface of the garment, make the models fresh and unique fashion pieces for various occasions.

The collection was created in collaboration with Textile studio JS, which is backed by textile designer Juraj Straka. The fashion show was accompanied by the multi-instrumental musician Stroon.

The whole festival ended with the acclaimed Hanečka

The industrial hall, transformed into a catwalk, was filled to capacity in the late evening. Viewers enjoyed the magnificent Boris Hanečka show. Inspired by his latest collection, he literally plunges into the world of art. The basic motif in the creation of Haneček’s monochrome collection is Caravaggio’s painting Narcissus.

The designer examines the themes of polarity, reflection and illusion, which at first glance have nothing in common, but are connected by the aspect of contrast – but not primarily, it is more an ideological study of whether reflection on the water surface is a copy or original. The interpretation of Caravaggio’s painting also appeared in the collection in the form of prints, which were taken care of by Soňa Michaláková.

The artist transformed the painting into an illustration that creates a print on materials such as lycra, silk and triacetate, so that it can be defragmented and shifted into new ideological concepts. Milan Štefan consulted the collection for the third time, who also took care of the styling of the collection. Thematically, the name seamlessly follows the previous Aurora Floralis flower collection.

Fashion LIVE honored the third day of the show! The President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová, accompanied by security guards, her older daughter Ley Čaputová and the protocolist from the Presidential Palace, Frencien Bauer, also visited her. The president came to the final show of her court designer Boris Hanečka, which was the culmination of the latest year of the show.

The President with her participation in the Fashion LIVE! reaffirmed its position on the importance of the creative industries.

Above all, however, she came to support her younger daughter Emma Čaputová, who as a fresh model in the modeling agency Exit Model Management presented various models of Slovak designers during each day of the event. She also surprised the audience with her new extravagant hairstyle. During her presence on the pier, she earned applause from the audience several times.
