Quarantine can also be terminated by a negative result of a PCR test performed on the fifth day at the earliest. Quarantine does not apply to fully vaccinated persons. 15:39 – VACCINATION: The third dose of COVID-19 vaccine can be given to immunocompromised people four weeks after the second, as it is part of the basic vaccination schedule. For the other groups, it is a booster dose, which can be given after six months at the earliest. This was stated on Thursday by Alena Koščálová from the council of experts.

All immunocompromised people are entitled to the third dose. Their vaccination should be started first. They can already ask their doctor to confirm that they belong to a risk group. Some patients will be notified by text message. (TASR)

14:53 – WASTEWATER MONITORING: From 27 September 2021 to 4 October 2021, the regional public health authorities, in cooperation with the operators of wastewater treatment plants, took a total of 218 samples for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus, which were examined by a qualitative and quantitative method. There were 197 (90.37%) samples positive or with cut-off values.

14:38 – CHECKS: The regional public health authorities (RÚVZ), together with the police, intensified extraordinary inspections of compliance with anti-epidemic measures due to the deteriorating epidemiological situation. During inspections in the districts of Bánovce nad Bebravou and Nové Mesto nad Váhom, they did not find any significant breaches of the measures. In the past week, we admitted about 550 patients to hospitals, compared to under 400 the week before. We currently have about 700 patients hospitalized with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. 13:55 – ANTIGEN TESTS: Slovakia will buy ten million antigen (Ag) tests in the framework of procurement carried out by the European Commission (EC).
