New Bratislava bypass. Who pays to use it and who does not – PRAVDA.sk

During the first weekend of October, two important parts of the Bratislava outer bypass were handed over. See how it will make it easier for motorists to travel.

The newly completed sections of the bypass will facilitate the journey from the south of Slovakia towards the center of Bratislava.

Everyone must have seen the familiar tale of Shrek, in which the donkey asked at any moment, “Will we be there yet?” In recent days, journalists and a large part of the motoring public have found themselves in a similar situation when asked when, after the floodplain of the Lužní Bridge, other parts of the zero bypass of Bratislava will finally open.

On Friday afternoon last week (1 October), the D4R7 consortium received an unspoken and vague position in which the concessionaire explained that “the parties are working hard together to achieve the goal of opening the remaining R7 expressway between the Bratislava junctions, Nivy (Prievoz) – Bratislava, South and section D4 Bratislava, Jarovce – Bratislava, Petržalka (Rusovce), by the end of this week. ”

The day after that, ie on Saturday (October 2) after 9 pm, the information came without advance notice that we had just opened a 6.3 km long section of the R7 expressway from the Bratislava-South junction to the Bratislava-Niva junction (Prievoz ). ” On Sunday (October 3) just before eight o’clock in the evening, again, without prior notice, came the notice that “in the evening we opened a 2.2 km long section D4 from the intersection Bratislava – Jarovce to the intersection Bratislava – Petržalka (Rusovce).”

In most other countries, the delivery of such an important work is more official, comprehensive and less chaotic, but let’s leave that aside. It is important that the consortium has currently handed over almost the entire external bypass of Bratislava. During this month, a shorter section between Čierna Voda and the Bratislava – East junction should be completed.

Of course, the interconnection of the D1 and D4 motorways has yet to be completed, but we will be waiting for it for a few more years, and in this case the butter is on its head. And let’s not forget about another important part of it, which is not only not yet built, but is not yet properly planned. It is a tunnel under the Carpathians, which should be more than 10 kilometers long and would really divert transiting traffic from the west completely out of town. However, it would probably be more appropriate to talk not about a specific date, but about which generation may live to see it. But let’s not be pessimistic and look forward to what has been added to us around Bratislava in recent days. So who will the new sections help and who will not?
