MARSEILLE – Bernard Tapie, former president of the French football club Olympique Marseille, died in the morning hours of 78 at the age of 78. According to the AP agency, the former official lost the fight against stomach cancer, which was diagnosed in 2017.

“We are very sorry to announce that our former president has left us forever today. Bernard Tapie will forever remain in our hearts, he has become one of the club’s legends.” wrote the Provencal club on its website.
