Chinese planes again violated Taiwanese airspace – SME.sk

CHINA-PEJ. China has again sent more than 30 military aircraft to Taiwan.

The Taiwanese Ministry of Defense informed that on Saturday, 39 aircraft entered the Taiwan Air Defense Zone in two waves.

The situation happened similarly on Friday, when 38 planes flew into the airspace south of the island.

According to the resort, 20 planes arrived on Saturday during the day, another 19 at night. Most of them were identified as J-17 and SU-30 fighters.

“China has always taken brutal and barbaric steps to threaten regional peace,” Taiwan’s Prime Minister Su Chenchang said on the margins of the first flights.

For more than a year, China has often sent military aircraft to the area south of Taiwan.

Thirty-eight aircraft on Friday and Saturday are the highest number of aircraft in a day since Taiwan began publishing reports on such flights, the Taiwanese Central News Agency said.

Taiwan and China split during the Civil War in 1949. However, Beijing continues to claim Taiwan as part of its territory.
