Exhibition of a photo of Emmanuel Macron in a swimsuit: the presidential couple files a complaint – teller report

For the past two weeks, she has been sitting in front of the Élysée Palace. It is difficult for the President of the Republic and his wife not to see the exhibition in rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré devoted to “Presidents of the Republic on their vacation spots”, with Emmanuel Macron in a swimsuit on a jet-ski. A photo that would have been taken “Last year” and would already have “circulated in the media”. According to Europe 1 radio, the organizer of the exhibition was heard for two and a half hours by the police earlier this week.

“An investigation is underway” and “the investigations were entrusted to the BRDP”, the Brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person, said the prosecution, without saying either the exact reasons or the people targeted by this investigation. According to Europe 1, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron are at the origin of the complaint which targets in particular a paparazzi, author of the incriminated photo. Contacted by AFP, the Elysee Palace said it had “no comment” to do on this case.

Thibault Daliphard, one of the photographers of the exhibition, contacted by AFP, said he was going to be interviewed by the police on Tuesday in the Var, where he lives, without however knowing “for which photos”. He said to himself very “surprised” the complaint of the presidential couple because the Elysee had informed the gallery owner Daniel Delamare that photos “disturbed” and they had, according to the paparazzi, “immediately removed”. “It’s incomprehensible even”, the photos having “for the most part already been published without there having been such a fuss at the time of their distribution”, he added.

This exhibition “was only intended to present an unknown profession” and “in no way to provoke or to undermine the President”, he continued. “It was just aimed at seeing the presidents off, people who have activities [de vacances] like Mr. Everybody, off official “. It is “even a presidential tradition to see photos of French presidents during their holidays”, of “Pompidou at Fort de Brégançon to Emmanuel Macron, passing by Giscard in a swimsuit”, he stressed.

“The photo on the jet ski shows a young, dynamic president, almost Kennedy-style, so I don’t see how the image is negative.”, again lamented the paparazzi. A photographer who has already had a problem with Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron. In 2017, he was accused of breaking into the couple’s residence during a trip to Marseille. A suspicion which had led to a complaint against him from the President of the Republic for “harassment” and “attempted invasion of privacy” before the latter finally decided to withdraw it.
