SHMÚ issued warnings for evening and night against strong winds in the mountains – Topky.sk

A first-degree warning against strong winds in the mountains is issued during the night in the districts of Námestovo, Tvrdošín, Dolný Kubín, Žilina, Martin, Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš, Poprad, Brezno and Banská Bystrica.

The wind can reach speeds of 110 to 135 kilometers per hour in gusts. “The expected wind speed is common at a given time of year and area, but poses a potential danger to human activities,” stressed by SHMÚ. Alerts are valid until 23.00.
