The key witness wants to testify! It will bring a reversal in the official version of the case of the death of Slovak Inmate in Belgium – Topky.sk

He claims to have seen the Inmates being taken off the plane and disagrees with the version that he was actively resisting. The reconstruction of the case is to take place at the beginning of next week. Lexmann wants to turn to the Slovak government and authorities to be interested in the questionable way of developing the case.

According to Lexmann, Behúl did everything in his power to record his testimony. He sent it to the judge and asked to send back the French translation, but did not receive it. Behúla was invited to the planned reconstruction in the spring, which was finally postponed to September. They didn’t inform him about her anymore. “The law firm told me that Behul is not on the list of witnesses to testify during the reconstruction, which seems to us as startling information. It creates many questions.” declared the MEP.

According to the crown witness, Chovanec did not resist

Behúl claims that the Inmate looked disoriented in the plane, did not react or put up resistance. He found it strange that he had been taken off the plane because he could not show the ticket. Behúl received an invitation to the reconstruction, which was supposed to be in the spring, but he was not allowed to take an escort with him. When he learned of the September date of the reconstruction, he began to call the authorities again. “It was not possible to ask for an answer as to whether I was on the list or whether I should prepare time for the reconstruction,” he said.

According to him, the testimony may be important because the police interpreted the case in such a way that the Inmate put up active resistance in the plane, but Behúl says that he did not put up active resistance. The case was also pointed out by the extra-parliamentary CIS. She called on EU Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič to be informed immediately of the actual development of the investigation into the death of the Inmate.

Parliamentary MP Ľuboš Blaha (Smer-SD) also criticizes that they did not invite a key witness to reconstruct the case. According to him, the Belgian authorities should not have called for the reconstruction or defense of the Inmate. He talks about trying to sweep the case under the rug. He called on President Zuzana Čaputová and the head of Slovak diplomacy, Ivan Korčok (SaS nominee), to resolve the situation.

The case happened in February 2018

The inmate died in February 2018 after a fight with the police at the airport in Charleroi, Belgium. According to the Belgian media, he behaved violently on board the plane, fumbling into a flight attendant because he could not sit on his chosen seat. The captain of the plane refused to take off until the summoned airport police intervened.

A shift in the assessment of the case came from a video released last August. In the pictures, you can see the policemen kneeling on Chovanc for more than a quarter of an hour and one of the policemen cheered, while her colleagues laughed at that.
