Eni, Joule supports young entrepreneurs with ‘Passion and innovation compared’

A project in support of the Sicilian territory, which arises from Joule’s desire to address young people by supporting them in school orientation, with an inspirational event aimed at developing entrepreneurship in children in view of the great challenges of the present, such as that of climate change , and where passion and innovation are the background to an active path of knowledge of oneself and of the other. These are the foundations on which ‘Passion and innovation in comparison’, an event organized by Joule, Eni’s school for business, held on 23 and 24 September in distance mode, which saw the participation of 40 students from the institutes. school of Gela (pcto-paths for transversal skills and orientation) and by the ITS Steve Jobs of Caltagirone. The students were involved in various training activities to train their communication skills, provide them with adequate tools to validate hypotheses starting from their passions and interests, and develop their entrepreneurial skills with the aim of identifying actions related to circular economy, sustainability and energy transition, which also translate into awareness in the use of resources (water, plastic, food, etc.), aimed at combating climate change. The participants divided into teams were finally asked to present a project in which they applied the concepts learned during the course, elaborating a hypothesis to face one of the great challenges presented during the training course, validating it. At the end of the works, the winning team was rewarded with a visit to ‘Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition’ the most important European event dedicated to innovation and to the Eni Joule offices in Rome Ostiense. The two training days ended with the awarding of all participants, who received a full-coverage scholarship that will give access to the Aurora Experience, a path of growth and orientation dedicated to children under 21. The event was organized by Joule in collaboration with Aurora Fellows, a project born from the Homo Ex Machina Foundation which every year opens its doors to more than 200,000 young people in Europe and along the Mediterranean coasts, to support them in the exploration of their talent and in the expression of potential, and Upskill 4.0, a spin-off of Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice born from the’ its 4.0 ‘project funded by the Ministry of Education, which aims to promote local development, activating the institutions of the different territories, to relate skills of its students with small and medium-sized enterprises in the experimentation of innovative processes. ‘Passion and Innovation in comparison’, a gym where students trained their communication skills, while developing soft skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. An initiative conceived by Joule, Eni’s school for business created to train aspiring startuppers who want to do sustainable business, not necessarily in the energy sector, with a focus on climate change, the circular economy and decarbonisation. As the unit of measurement of energy from which it takes its name, Joule centers its training activity on the unit of measurement of doing business: people. A school based on the integration of entrepreneurial experiences, academic skills and experiences of the participants.
