On Thursday evening, the Deputy Chairman of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic, Milan Laurenčík (SaS), closed the discussion on the proposal to dismiss Minister Mikulec. The proposal is due to be put to the vote today at 11.00. Although Smer-SD objected that there were no petitioners in plenary after 7 pm, Laurenčík continued the negotiations and invited the Members registered for the debate to speak.

As they were not even in plenary, Laurenčík announced that their order had failed and closed the debate on the proposal. Smer-SD criticizes this. The coalition says at least one of the petitioners was sitting in plenary.

The plenary originally agreed on Thursday’s sitting even after 7 pm. The chairman of the OĽaNO parliamentary club, Michal Šipoš, reacted that Dušan Jarjabek (Smer-SD) was sitting in the plenary as one of the petitioners, so the negotiations could continue. He noted that if at least one of the Members signed in the motion to convene a sitting was sitting in plenary, he was counted as a rapporteur and the debate continued. Jarjabek sees it differently. He noted that he had been referred to the speaker with a factual remark, and did not even sit behind the desk for the submitter. He talks about different interpretations of the Rules of Procedure.

Non-attached Member Peter Pellegrini said that the obstruction must also be known.
