The student, who opened fire on Monday in the building of the Russian State University in the city of Perm, located in the eastern European part of Russia, amputated his left leg from the knee. The Shot channel on the Telegram platform informed about it.

According to doctors, Timur Bekmansurov’s condition is very serious. It is located in the intensive care unit and is connected to artificial lung ventilation. In addition to left leg injuries, Bekmansurov also has gunshot wounds to the lungs, liver, intestines and a damaged ureter.

Bekmansurov’s actions on the university’s premises claimed six lives and injured 28, nine of whom were assessed as serious by doctors. According to information from Tuesday, seven people are still in serious condition.

The news portal Meduza.io reported on Tuesday that the Committee of Inquiry of the Russian Federation, which is dealing with the case, banned students living on the university campus from leaving the dormitories and moving around the campus.

The shooting on the campus of Perm State University took place on Monday around 11:00 local time, when there were about 3,000 students.

According to the TASS agency, Bekmansurov had a permit to hold a hunting weapon, which he acquired in May this year. Russia’s committee of inquiry has begun prosecuting him for murder.
