‘Posterius’, the photograph tells the story of the factory

A journey through images to tell the construction of the Philipp Morris International plant in Bologna. Through the artistic gaze of the famous photographer Carlo Valsecchi, Posterius was born in 2017: a photographic collection in 500 numbered copies that tell the spaces, faces and technologies of the factory. A vision of the world of the future, built in ordered and logical spaces, where technologies, mechanical-digital processes and highly sophisticated materials are the constituent components. The volume published by Silvana Editoriale was presented in Milan in the spaces of the Triennale Terrace. With the collaboration of Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna, the Brescian artist has set his project on the pillars of light, space and time. “The future is not defined but it is already among us, even without being able to define it temporally. It could be in a minute or a year, ”said Valsecchi. And the Crespellano factory is also in the future; “A workplace centered on the principles of flexibility, innovation and always able to evolve”, underlined Mauro Sirani Fornasini, former Director of Operations Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna. “We used highly scientific instruments and equipment without neglecting the beauty, the art and the aesthetic part that can help the people who live in the factory to be more involved and to feel better in the workspaces”, concluded Mauro Sirani. . “Philip Morris International’s Bologna plant was born around people – declared Michele Samoggia, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Philip Morris Italia.
